Puberphonia


  1. It is a voice and speech disorder
  2. Also called as mutational falsetto voice. 
  3. Usually children has high pitch voice, but in puberty the vocal cords lengthen and voice changes to lower pitch(occurs in males)  .
  4. In puberphonia, the vocal cords fails to lengthen, so the voice does not change from high pitch to that of low pitch. 
  5. Seen in emotionally immature boys, who are insecure and excessively attached to their mothers. 
  6. Physical and sexual development in normal in these boys  . 

Treatment

  • Training the body to produce low pitch voice
  • Gutzmann's pressure test: Backward and downward pressing of thyroid eminence relaxes overstretched cords and low pitch voice can be produced.

How to master your final year MBBS?

To the students who are ready to enter in final year, here are some tips to master your final year :  1. Master your clinical skills 2.Make notes for both practical and theory.  3.Pre-read the topic if you are going to attend a lecture and try to study the topic same day it is taught.  4.Group study covers a wide range of topics.  5.Notes should be consize, in form of tables and flow chart.  6.Solve previous papers.
